Background

Arghavan Fallahi was arrested for a second time on 25 January 2025 in the city of Parand and transferred to Ward 241 of Evin Prison. She spent nearly five months in solitary confinement, where she was subjected to repeated interrogations under physical and psychological torture.

Following the bombing and evacuation of Evin Prison, she was transferred to a solitary confinement cell in Fashafouyeh Prison (Greater Tehran Penitentiary). She is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison.

Arghavan had previously been arrested alongside her father and brother on 4 November 2022 in Shiraz. After spending one year and four months in prison, she was released on bail in March 2024.
